2. Between the stereotyping "a Karen" and the feeling (maybe only imagined by me? I hope so) that someone is a little gleeful over the woman getting death threats, this seems like a really horrible story.
Karen - err, Amber - was claiming she was exempt from the mask requirement thanks to the first amendment, something she clearly did not understand. She then proceeded to try to sue Gutierrez for half of the proceeds for the GoFundMe campaign citing that it’s her involvement that caused his windfall. So... maybe she could benefit from learning that actions have consequences.
Of course the first amendment protects her. It guarantees freedom of religion. Thus she may not be forced to submit to faith-based bullshit like wearing a muzzle, just because the Corona death cult demands it.
But hey, Gavinito Newssolini abrogated the Constitution months ago. The government in California is now a fully illegitimate despotism. So no real point in discussing constitutional rights.
We need to get the 1st Amendment reinterpreted to also be freedom from religion. Your religion says gays shouldn't get married? Fine. Don't officiate guy weddings, or attend gay weddings. But that doesn't mean you can tell gay people they can't get married. Same for abortion, birth control, etc. If your religion says no then you are free not to do those things, but you shouldn't be allowed to use your religion to keep others from doing those things.
