Colorado DMV Nixes TOFU Vanity Plate Citing Obscenity Concern 6
A vegan driver has had her request for a vanity license plate, "ILVTOFU," turned down by the Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles because the phrase could be construed as obscene. "We don't allow FU because some people could read that as street language for sex," Department of Revenue spokesman Mark Couch said. It would have been interesting to see the wide array of pale people that would have commented on her plate.
ILVTOTU? (Score:1, Funny)
If the rule is no "FU", then I guess EFFYOU would be okay? Pompous bureaucrat!

Gotta watch out for that street language. They try and confuse you by using different words and such, but we're on to what 'fu' means in street language, yesiree bob.
They were right to refuse her. (Score:3, Funny)
Tofu? What part of the animal does the tofu come from, anyway? You see? It's like chicken nuggets - not even real food!

What amuses me the most about this story is I see things like "WTF" all the time with the non-vanity plates here in Colorado. If you try to get it on a vanity plate you run the risk of being denied.
