El-Bump Replaces Shaking Hands Due To Swine Flu 8

Marxist writes "The government of Mexico advises people to avoid shaking hands or kissing as a greeting, so what could the people do instead when meeting a friend? As social distancing becomes the norm due to swine flu, CNN's chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, advocates the el-bump, or bumping your elbows, as an alternative greeting that serves people's social needs while keeping them safer from swine flu compared to shaking hands. Probably we can expect more etiquette innovations as the swine flu virus spreads arround."

    All the health officials I've heard say cough into your elbow, not your hand if you are without tissue.

  • For unknown reasons, people are seeing their doctor for ulnar nerve problems in record numbers.

  • Their wenises are touching!
  • I propose the bollocks-kick for a form of social greeting. It's the only way to connect with someone and really make sure you don't give them swine flu.

  • unfortunately i do the el-bump to my wife's head in the middle of the night when were asleep, she wakes me up to tell me about it too :{

    i bet it works better when both parties are awake to do it.
  • Do a bow as is customary in east asia
  • The photo included for this story raises several questions.

    1. What gender is the person doing the elbow bump on the right of the photo?

    2. Does anyone else think the photo resembles the artwork style of some Magic cards?

    • okay, clearly because you stated #2, you are not aware of the second half of the human gender. let me help you out:
      the person on the right in the photo is a g-i-r-l. but i think many /. posters refer to them as 'icky'.
