War is hell. In wars past, whole cities would be sacked or burned. World War 2 killed hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of innocent civilians during bombings.
I'm not bringing this up because it excuses bombing a wedding party, but to put it in perspective. I don't think it is realistic to expect people to give up armed conflict. As far as armed conflicts go, the stuff the US has been involved in is nothing new. If anything, these drone strikes are comparatively limited. You can rail against the US on here all you like, but IMHO you won't get many converts because of, well, Dresden. Tokyo. Or Syria, for that matter. If you want to see how shitty the US can be at war, look at the Philippines. People watch this crap for fun on the History Channel, so expecting outrage is going to lead you to disappointment.

Drone strikes are at pretty much the opposite end of the spectrum from nuking. I don't think I'm doing a very good job communicating. Paving over the Middle East in glass would certainly end terrorism coming from the Middle East, but it might have unintended consequences - like genocide, for instance.

The difference between a drone and a piloted plane is the control system. The fact that purpose-built drones lack facilities for a pilot is merely efficiency, and the effort required to retrofit a plane designed for a pilot with remote control apparatus.
The reason there aren't drones capable of dropping 6-block bombs, or city-buster bombs even, is that we haven't seen application for the technology, paired with security for the weapons systems.

The flaw in your logic is the assumption that when they make drone aircraft large enough to carry enough munitions to level a 6-block bomb they will use it to take out one house. Just because they can does not mean they will. They can send a cruise missile right now that could take out the house and surrounding buildings but they do not do that as it is too much collateral damage. A couple of Hellfires on the other hand cause a lot less damage.

Targeted persons hang out with civilians. People who shoot at us get shot at. You keep parroting your lines and if not you, then your descendants will be killed by these people you're trying to protect. People who would cut your throat, given half a chance, especially if they knew the details of your lifestyle.
What are the civilians supposed to do? Tell the targeted persons to fuck off? Or leave their homes and belongings and flee somewhere. If so, where? What would be a good place to go to for survival if all you can bring is what you can carry with you.
Civilians do not choose to become collateral damage but when there's enough collateral damage, it turns previously not all that hateful civilians or their descendants into people that are willing to kill you.

The US has used civilian evacuation to find combatants. If an area suddenly looses 90% of it's cell phones, it's because the civilians are evacuating before the air strike they know is coming. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

Yes, and vote in a government that does not allow terrorist in their territory. The civilians are allowing the terrorist to try to use them as human shields. The US is not allowing that to happen. Seems like a pretty straightforward ill-timed autolaunch. Sometimes some flight modes are locked out at the bird or at the ground station software for a particular time or reason, but I can't see not being able to stop an autolaunch at all. Maybe the ground software makes you jump through a few hoops, to keep you from casually/accidentally stopping an autolaunch and it was just enough time for the bird to try to tackle its big brother on the taxiway.
I've only worked on catapult launched systems, and there's no stopping a launch on those. They're actually launched with a big red button by the crew operating the catapult outside after the operator puts them on AutoLaunch mode, so crews don't usually have to dodge errant aircraft.

This was a human error, as was the accident you linked to. The recent crash in San Francisco was human error. I'd question whether I'd want manned aircraft on the same runway as the drone craft I was flying in.

Nah, just drop some crap off a bridge. Even just a cardboard box or a newspaper or something. . Cars will slow down and this will cause a massive jam behind them. Even something unique on the side of the road for people to gawk at will cause a huge gaper delay. The cops do this regularly, and it always pisses me off. My favorite from childhood was for you and a friend to pull up besides someone at a red light. While the light is still red, put both cars in R and slowly start backing. The person in the middle will freakout for a second or two, thinking their brakes are failing and they are about to be t-boned.
Also from a even younger age, pulling on the invisible rope was never ending fun. Drivers lock their brakes up thinking kids are stupid enough to put a rope across the road.

There is an active discussion in Germany right now, because some politician wanted to save some money and decided to leave out the anti-crash sensors on the drones he bought. When they wanted to start putting them into test operation, the german office for airspace safety grounded the entire fleet instead, because these things have absolutely no mechanism that would prevent them from crashing into a passenger plane during flight.
